What is Phainky? Phainky Pty Ltd is an Australian software and educational technology (EdTech) company headquartered in Victoria. We build modern, cloud-based technology for schools and education systems, and apply our broader software development capability to solve related problems across the education sector.
What does the name Phainky mean, or where did it come from?

Is Phainky the same thing as EduConnect?
Not quite. EduConnect is Phainky’s flagship product the School Management System schools use day to day. Phainky is the company behind it, which also develops adjacent EdTech tools and provides software development services more broadly.

What's the difference between Phainky's EdTech and software development work?
Our EdTech work is centred on EduConnect, our School Management System. Our software development capability extends beyond that building adjacent EdTech tools, developing websites for schools and education-sector organisations, and delivering select custom development work for education clients. Both are ultimately in service of the same mission: using technology to improve education.
Does Phainky take on software development projects unrelated to education?
Generally, no. We apply our engineering capability deliberately, where it strengthens our core mission in education, rather than pursuing generic software development work outside that focus.
